Position Summary:
The role of the Personal Service Representative (PSR) is instrumental to our banking center. The PSR will provide professional quality service to members by phone, email and direct contact. The PSR serves as a proactive member of the branch team by processing IRA transactions, opening and closing accounts, distributions, rollovers and transfers. Effectively manages insurance and member death claims as well as processing other general account maintenance. Responsible for educating members regarding current marketing promotions, for engaging new and existing members to deepen their product and service usage with the Credit Union. The PSR will provide our members with outstanding professional and courteous service by giving them full attention and making their business a top priority.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consistently provides a high level of service and commitment to increasing member satisfaction. Promotes advocacy and takes personal responsibility to ensure that member issues are handled properly at the first point of contact.
- Develops members through on-boarding and maintenance of accounts, understands and offers products and services to members that will help them achieve financial success.
- Processes applications for consumer loan products, including auto loans, credit cards, share secured loans and unsecured lines of credit. May also process applications for home equity loans and lines of credit. Serves as a member advocate throughout the loan process.
- Performs borrower pre-qualification and analysis of financial condition; carefully assesses and evaluates the risk of financing requests. Makes recommendations to loan underwriters.
- Processes loan disbursements.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists members with savings products, including checking and share accounts, money market accounts and IRAs. Remains proficient in the legal aspects of accounts (e.g. trusts, fiduciary accounts, Power of Attorneys, etc.).
- Engages members to increase sales through the expansion of existing member’s relationships and the development of new business, to include out-bound calling.
- Retains members through resolving member problems.
- Meets or exceeds established sales goals and relationship quotas.
- Meets personal development and training objectives established by the Manager.
- Communicates well both verbally and in writing, effectively shares information and ideas with others, and demonstrates good listening skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of member’s information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience with loan processing.
- Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and strong cross-selling skills.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to member account programs.
- Familiarity with credit union products and services.
- Must be bondable and pass a credit check.
