Somat Engineering, Inc. (Somat) has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Manager at our West Bloomfield, MI office. We are seeking energetic and personable experienced engineers who are interested in growing their career in this field.
We are seeking a Civil Project Manager to perform professional services for municipal and private clients, including design services for buildings, airports, tunnels, bridges and water supply and sewage infrastructure. A Civil project manager should bring experience managing budgets, schedules and engineering staff along with strong analytical skills, solution-oriented knowledge, and a collaborative attitude. They will collaborate closely with other engineers and project managers to translate creative vision into functional designs and processes.
Some of the types of activities that they will be involved with are:
- Provide project management and technical expertise for Somat?s civil engineering (water/wastewater, sewer, bridge, structural) projects from inception to completion, including the preparation of proposals and 30-60-90 design process
- Coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects
- This individual will plan, schedule, budget, coordinate and conduct assigned civil engineering work
- Perform project management duties such as: provide primary client coordination and communication; monitor project engineer work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and standards; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all engineering disciplines and all other project participants
- Providing technical expertise for accomplishing project goals
- Client Relations- identifying, obtaining and retaining clients and projects for the company?s target markets
- Assist with recruitment and mentoring of new employees.
- Assist Somat in growth-related and other activities of the company.
- Client interaction on both proposals and project design
- Prepare technical reports
- Supervise project and staff engineers in preparation of construction plans and specifications
- Attend project/progress meetings when required
- Monitor work compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices & standards
- Other duties as assigned
