Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, managing phone systems, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills and knowledge of medical office procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
Skills:
- Proficient in using phone systems and handling multiple lines
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (eclincalworks)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in a dental office or as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Must speak Spanish
