Reporting to the President, the ideal candidate will have proven manufacturing experience as an Accounting Director or Assistant Controller looking for advancement. As a strong manager and communicator, you will lead the finance and accounting team in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, general accounting, treasury, payroll, and special projects. You will work closely with senior management to help facilitate the fast growth of our company.
Primary functions & responsibilities
· Provide senior management with timely and accurate financial statements by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate financial data.
· Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
· Work to improve general accounting processes, including job cost accounting, to stay abreast of company growth.
· Continue to enhance financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards monthly and annually.
· Continuous improvement of financial controls and guidelines.
· Assist with budgeting and forecasting in the near term and long term.
· Oversee treasury operations, including forecasting of cash flow.
· Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.
· Assist and support short and long-term operational strategies by working alongside senior management.
· Assist with new entity establishment and setup as the organization grows.
· Takes ownership of relationships with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, and relevant company contacts.
· Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
· Experience working with Revenue recognition for the manufacturing industry.
· Participates in employee recruitment, hiring, mentoring, and training.
· Interaction with the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
· 10+ years of proven accounting experience
· Professional accounting certification, including CPA or CGMA
· Public Accounting experience a plus
· Good working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics Navision or similar, a plus
· Strong understanding of job costing and revenue recognition in a manufacturing environment
· Working knowledge of regulatory standards (GAAP)
· Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
· Excellent organizational skills
· Strong communication skills and ability to interact closely with various departments
Prefer Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience as a senior-level Accounting Director, Assistant Controller, or Controller
· Strong overall knowledge encompassing general accounting, reporting, budgeting, treasury, and financial systems.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
CPA or CGMA is highly preferred. Experience may substitute for certification
