As a Senior Software Engineer at Career Certified you will be developing and maintaining in house and customer facing software including our learning management system and e-commerce applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design scalable and efficient software solutions, and implement best practices to ensure our systems' reliability, security, and performance.
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to operate effectively within constraints, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Adapt to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity with resilience and flexibility, maintaining a positive attitude and fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, iterate on designs, and implement enhancements that improve usability, functionality, and overall satisfaction.
- Collaborate with designers and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Architect scalable and robust systems that can accommodate future growth and evolution of the business.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and other areas for optimization within existing systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and incorporate new ideas and methodologies to drive innovation.
- Deploy and manage software applications in production environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum rituals such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to track progress, identify blockers, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Physical Requirements:

Technical/Software Skills and Experience Required:
- Mastery in Java, Spring, Hibernate and NodeJS.
- Proficiency in client side languages and frameworks such as Javascript, CSS, HTML, Angular and Tailwind.
- Strong understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and microservice architecture.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, Cognito and others.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, Agile/Scrum practices, and CI/CD pipelines. GitLab and Docker experience strongly preferred.
- Continuous learner committed to staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to foster their professional growth and development.
- Fully developed core skills that require minimal direction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail..
