Responsibilities:
- Maintain bookkeeping records for multiple clients' entities in house by recording, reviewing and reconciling transactions in Quickbooks
- Prepare corporate tax returns & individual tax returns
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Identify key issues facing clients and discuss possible solutions to increase quality and efficiency
- Conduct financial report interpretation to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial management strategies and procedures
- Manage general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Participate in budgeting processes and provide financial insights to support decision-making
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies for governmental accounting purposes
- Support the preparation of financial statements for corporate accounting purposes
- Perform accrual accounting to accurately record revenues and expenses
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and analysis
- Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting techniques
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and month-end close processes
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles is a plus
