Position Summary:
Poly-Med, Inc. is seeking candidates that are motivated, enthusiastic, and works well in both a team and individual setting. The Maintenance Technician maintains Maintenance and equipment in support of building and manufacturing operations. There are no direct reports to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Create, follow, and update the building maintenance documents as necessary.
- Repair manufacturing equipment as required.
- Construct manufacturing aids, jigs and fixtures as required.
- Rebuild equipment as required.
- Responsible for general Maintenance including back-up generators, air handling units, lighting, etc.
- Perform minor repairs to the Maintenance and subsequent utilities as needed.
- Make recommendations regarding expenditures for equipment, building and property repair or replacement.
- Work with outside vendors or contractors for building repairs and/or improvements.
- Dismantle and install furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Transport goods or equipment as assigned.
- Assist with maintaining building security.
- Maintain vacuum pumps.
- Maintain building air compressor and vacuum system.
- Oversee and/or perform maintenance of the PMI grounds.
- Perform immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility.
- Ability to navigate the Poly-Med Maintenance Support Ticket System (Review open, respond to and close support tickets).
- Transfer hazardous and non-hazardous materials to production areas and waste materials to collection areas for proper disposal. Perform other duties as required.
Required/Preferable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This position requires 4+ years of industrial experience and is full time.
- Basic mechanical, plumbing, and electrical knowledge
- Machining Skills desirable
- Strong detail oriented and the ability to follow documented procedures
- Ability to operate and be effective with a minimum of direct supervision
- Ability to work effectively with time pressures and multiple, changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization · Team player
- Basic math skills and computer skills, primarily MS Excel and Word · Dependable
- Familiarity reading and interpreting CAD or architectural drawings, experience editing drawings is highly desirable.
- Ability to be self-directed to balance unforeseen facility needs with those that must be performed at regular intervals
Education/Experience Requirements:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Ideal candidate will have Associates degree or trade certification in a technical discipline (mechanical/electrical/industrial) with 4+ years of experience
Environmental Requirements:
This position has the following physical requirements:
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl, push, and reach for extended periods
- Must be able to utilize/view a PC and/or monitor
- Must be able to lift up to 35-55 pounds
- Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet
