The Cashier performs customer service and maintains the cash drawer and receives payments at the counter from payors. Verifies cash reports from other departments and prepares reports for the Accounting Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Promptly and courteously responds to team member/patient/visitor inquiries per departmental procedure.
- Take cash payments and maintain cash drawer per departmental procedure.

Process non-cash payments.

Enter written source mnemonic codes on all details and payments and batches them per departmental procedure.

Accept cash reports from other departments and verifies per departmental procedure.

Set priorities for routine work flow and make allowances for special circumstances that may arise.

Demonstrate essential aspects of teamwork by approaching relationships in a manner to reduce conflicts and minimize problems.

Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.

Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.

Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the department Director.
Minimum Qualifications: Basic computer skills with information technology associated with the position. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Must be able to perform basic math and produce clearly written reports. 10-key by touch.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. 1-year previous work experience in a similar position preferred.
