Job Description:
Provide technical writing support functions for the Corporate Operations department at Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC). Writer shall produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation that supports the EXWC engineering and business
functions. The writer will translate complex technical concepts into accessible language and have the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a minimum of one year of administrative support experience.
- Proficient in the use of office equipment, including computers, scanners, fax and copiers.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Teams), Microsoft Edge, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Skilled with oral and written communications
- Possess well-developed time management and schedule coordination skills.
- The ability to work professionally with individuals, diverse groups, and the public.
General Duties:
- Create user manuals, technical guides, project/technical reports, standard operating
procedures, and other technical documents and templates to communicate complex
information in an easily understandable format.
-Work closely with engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts to gather the
requirements and necessary information to ensure all delivered products meet the highest
standards of quality and accuracy.
-Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect changes in processes, technologies,
and requirements.
-Ensure consistency and clarity across EXWC communications. They will develop and
enforce documentation standards and templates, conduct reviews and revisions, and
manage the documentation lifecycle from initial draft to final publication.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop training materials, presentations, and
other support content that aids in knowledge transfer and skill development.
