Charge Nurse position is at Nash Correctional in Nashville, NC. This position will demonstrate the ability to serve as a lead nurse and typically work independently with other healthcare professionals. Work includes conducting nursing assessments; developing, implementing and evaluating treatment plans; and providing patient care and education through case management. There is a greater emphasis in independent practice and advanced clinical knowledge/skills. Ability to administer medications and treatments as directed by a physician. Responsible for appropriate treatment and medical documentation and may assist the nursing supervisor by directly supervising licensed and unlicensed assigned nursing staff. Performs other related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Nurse Supervisor.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
NC Department of Adult Correction (DAC):
The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission and Rehabilitation & Reentry.

Documented knowledge and skill in the application of professional nursing theory, techniques and practices.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of nursing experience.
