Experienced Veterinary Technician for a popular 2 doctor veterinary hospital located in Fairfield, CT. Certification preferred but not required with adequate experience. This is not an entry level position, and not an assistant position. Applicants without veterinary significant technician experience will not be considered.
Full Time Position with great schedule- No evenings or weekends! Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits available.

This is a client facing position that requires face-to-face discussions with team members and clients.
The following is a list of essential job requirements (additional duties not listed here may be assigned as needed): Must have strong skill sets and be adept in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia protocols, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, taking vitals, calculating drug doses, dentistry, digital radiography(technique and positioning) ,obtaining relevant information and history from clients and maintaining proper and complete medical records, drugs logs and nursing care. Process inhouse lab testing, administer medications, vaccines and treatments and fill prescriptions properly. Enjoy educating clients about pet health, medications, vaccinations and diet. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Must be willing to help with end of day tasks- we are a small hospital and we all pitch in. Must be capable of using safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs. Avimark knowledge is a plus!
