Digital Prosthetic Designer / Technician:
Point Designs develops and manufactures robust mechanical prosthetic fingers for people with partial hand amputations. We are passionate about what we do and are looking to add another member to our dynamic team. We are looking for a full-time CAD Designer for our Bountiful, UT office. The CAD Designer will work closely with our Director of Clinical Services and fabrication team. The CAD Designer will produce digital representations of hand models, and each production step through 3D scanning. Then, the CAD Designer will digitally generate prosthetic sockets and send them to production.
Job Type: Full-time [40 hrs/wk]
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in various steps of the prosthetic device fabrication process
- 3D scan physical objects and import them into CAD program
- Manipulate digital objects within a CAD program
- Design organic shapes using pre-defined principles
- Run automation sequences within a CAD program
- Customize design and aesthetics of prostheses based on customer input and requirements
- Participate in the development of new automation sequences
- Organize and archive digital files
- Export CAD files for 3D printing
- Other duties as assigned
WORK HOURS AND LOCATION:
- Able to work during day-shift hours; roughly between the hours of 8am-5pm
- The CAD Designer is required to work at our office in Bountiful, UT

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough knowledge of 3D printing, 3D scanning, and computer modeling techniques (CAD)
- 3D Sculpting
- Experience using Meshmixer, Fusion 360, Zbrush, Geomagic Freeform, Artec Studio, or Nomad (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of computers and handheld electronics
- Entry-level knowledge of manufacturing processes, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge and/or experience in a production work environment
- Organized individual with clean workspace practices
- Self-starter that can work individually with little to no supervision
- Effective team and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Quickly adaptable to process changes
- Good character, honesty, integrity, accuracy, and reliability
- Promotes and contributes to the positive morale at the company
- Consistently follow design, manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly procedures to ensure repeatability and meet quality standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Ability to read and write in English (Required)
- CAD skills: 2+ years (Required)
- Hand Skills: 1+ year (Preferred)
