POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the support and maintenance of the facility and equipment necessary to support production. This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled repairs of facility and production equipment before, during and/or after production.
- Communicate and coordinate with plant supervisors and managers to ensure overall plant schedules area achieved.
- Be a self-starter and able to work with little or no supervision.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and give proper notice to supervisors.
- Ensure quick response to equipment related safety concerns.
- Maintain the facility and machinery to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Schedule required maintenance personnel for on-call duty, where applicable.
- Perform mechanic skills which include, but are not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Observe all safety rules and policies and comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Communicate effectively with team members, give guidance and support the decisions made by management.
- Regularly maintain a clean work area and shop.
- Must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Display a positive attitude when dealing with fellow employees, help to promote company policies and procedures and function well in a team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILS:
- Four (4) years of related experience in maintenance and production preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Able to use multi-meters and power tools
- Good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
- Have strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience with LOTO
- Have basic working knowledge of computer and PLC based machinery and systems
- Have basic working knowledge of the dust collection systems and its components
- Have basic working knowledge of the spark suppression systems and fire control system.
- Be mechanically inclined with ability to effectively resolve technical problems.
- Preference given to candidates possessing a technical degree. Equivalent work experience will be considered with a minimum of four (4) years of work experience as a maintenance technician.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Production setting - Dust
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- Noise level is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
