ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answer incoming phone calls for the OBGYN team and return voicemails
- Maintain knowledge of all OBGYN providers’ panels & clinic access, scheduling preferences, compatible insurance plans, and standard visit schedule
- Schedule initial new patient appointments and reschedule appointments as needed
- Verify insurance and coverage
- Cover reception desks and PSR phones as requested by supervisor or manager
- Work with HIM Dept to request outside records
- Maintain documentation for new patients consisting of new inbound calls, eCW special requests, and acute scheduling
- Assist Administrative Team with scheduling routine and follow up appointments
- Address basic billing questions and redirect as appropriate
- Appropriately schedule all incoming referrals to the practice
- Prepare and mail paperwork to new patients
- Confirm future appointments
- Provide general practice information for patients as needed
- Review accounts for duplicates, merging profiles as necessary
- Report unique new patient, insurance, and placement issues to Manager
- Communicate regularly with management, providers and clinical staff to ensure appropriate placement based on access
- Enter referral data in the computer system
- Other responsibilities as directed by coordinator or manager

- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Experience with EMR strongly desired
- Proficiency with Windows based computer applications

SCHEDULE
- 4 day work week; 36 hours
