Position Title: Director of Business Development
Department: Sales
Location: 100% Remote: Home Office (Must live in one of the following states – IL, WI, IA, MN)
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 Annually, Sales Performance Incentive Program
Reports To: Vice President of Sales & Solutions
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Director of Business Development at TA Dedicated focuses on driving revenue growth by utilizing prospecting skills, communication skills and vast relationship resources to ensure that TA Dedicated demonstrates the ability to grow through existing customer renewals and new customer business wins. Additionally, this role is responsible to support business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage an existing customer book of business, as well as prospect for new customers.
- Close new multi-year Dedicated accounts across a defined sales region in the continental US.
- Provide client-focused Dedicated solutions that drive operational improvements.
- Create short and long-term strategies for enhanced market penetration and increased revenue through new customer acquisition and creative solutions.
- Act as the voice of the customer by working closely with internal Operations Teams to deliver the optimal guaranteed capacity solutions.
- Work to broaden and expand existing relationships to be competitive and gain market share and improve profitability.
- Utilize market intelligence, strategic planning and relationship building initiatives to ensure that the company is building a sustainable competitive advantage among its competitors.
- Track metrics and use CRM to measure progress and success.
- Follow company-wide Business Development practices to ensure organizational alignment.
- Be instrumental in building a culture that is team-oriented and is committed to alignment, creativity and winning.
- Maintain a spirit of continuous improvement, determination, and positivity.

- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- A bachelor's degree (BA or BS) is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years Dedicated Transportation sales experience with a trucking or 3PL company (DCC and asset-based provider preferred) and relevant industry experience in positions of increasing authority.
- Requires a track record of growing market share, experience closing multi-year dedicated deals and exceeding sales targets.
- Prior experience in Dedicated Operations a plus.
- Experience dealing with Sustainable transportation solutions a plus.

- Proven business development skills resulting in increasing sales through effective prospecting, relationship management, effective communications, and market intelligence as well as experience in a long-term, consultative sales cycle.
- Strong presentation (both in-person and virtual), business writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Projects a strong positive image that conveys confidence to customers.
- An unquestioned work ethic, willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and work closely with colleagues and team members.
- Exceptional decision-making skills, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage escalations and time critical issues with poise.
- Must have good working knowledge of MS Office; experience using CRM, LinkedIn and PowerPoint a plus.
- The position requires visits to key customers and attendance at trade shows, requiring 30%-50% travel.
