Associate Podiatrist Job Description

Arizona Foot & Ankle Specialists, LLC endeavors to evaluate patients medically and provide current evidenced based medical treatment for their foot, ankle, and lower leg ailments or disease processes either by conservative and / or reconstructive foot & ankle surgery means. To provide patients with the highest quality of podiatric medical and surgical care, while maintaining a managed cost environment. Ensuring that we provide our patients with prompt, courteous, competent, and compassionate service while providing the highest quality cutting edge podiatric care possible.
Overview:
At Arizona Foot & Ankle Specialists we are a well-established growing podiatric group practice serving the Phoenix west valley area with its office in Goodyear, AZ. The west valley area is a great place to live with a lot of things to do locally. The office is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. There are multiple hospitals locally of which to join and become a part of their referral team. The Associate Podiatrist will work out of any or all of the company’s offices as the need arises providing podiatric care and services to patients, however we currently have one office, with future plans for additional offices when the time is right. We do not have any long-term facilities and have no plans of bringing them on, and no house calls. Our physicians and other providers must abide by the company mission statement. We are looking for someone who is ready to start as soon as possible once they are credentialed. The sooner you can get or have an AZ Podiatry license the faster we can start working on your credentialing. Our primary focus is finding the right podiatrist to fit right into growing our practice. Responsibilities:
· Perform an appropriate medical history and thorough examination of the patient. Assess patient’s foot, ankle, & lower leg conditions, diseases, and injuries, then develop a treatment plan, initially working with company protocols for specific conditions.
· Help formulate, manage, and consolidate company treatment protocols for specific conditions.
· We treat all aspects of podiatric medicine in the State of Arizona, including both forefoot and rearfoot pathology, such as hallux valgus, hallux varus, hallux rigidus, lessor metatarsal pathology, hammertoes, neuromas, soft tissue masses (ganglion cysts, plantar fibromas, neurofibromas, gouty tophi, sarcomas, etc.), bone tumors (osteochondromas, giant cell tumors, sarcoma’s, etc.), multiple forefoot and rearfoot fractures, sprains, strains, tendinitis and tendon rupture conditions, a lot of plantar heel pain, tarsal tunnel syndrome, Short Achilles tendon/Equinus, Achilles tendinitis, Haglund’s deformities, etc., nail pathologies (ingrown nails, fungal nails, traumatic nails, at risk toe nails, Diabetic foot care, Fall Risk therapies, AFO’s for multiple conditions such as fall risk balance braces, drop foot bracing, AZ braces for multiple conditions, CROW Walkers, Diabetic shoes and insoles, custom orthotics, plus much more.
· We offer multiple treatment modalities to help provide the best available care for our patient’s including the newest Digital DR x-rays, Diagnostic ultrasound both black/white and color units, PAD testing equipment, SudoScan Neurological testing equipment, REMY Laser therapy for toenails, MLS Robotic Laser for pain and inflammation therapy, EPAT/Shock wave therapy in both Focused and Radial therapies, MIST Therapy for wounds, Amniotic tissue membrane in both injectables and solid sheets (Ex. NuDYN, Xcellerate, EpiFix, and Amniox when available and Wharton's Jelly injections), Swift microwave immunotherapy for warts, Cryotherapy for skin lesions, AFO’s, custom orthotics, custom molded shoes, orthopedics shoes and sandals in our shoe store, and tons of DME type devices to help provide our patients with the best treatment options.
· We also have a minor surgical suite with power surgical equipment for those quick procedures at a lower total cost to the patient.
· Provides consultation services and follow up for podiatric patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
· Provide treatment for complex foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions/pathologies, diseases, infections in accordance with evidence-based protocols.
· Complete all orders, prescriptions, and progress notes in a timely fashion set out by our company standards. Provides ongoing patient and family education throughout the course of treatment and obtains informed consents prior to performing surgical procedures.
· Document care and treatment provided in our EMR system in a thorough and timely manner.
· Communicate with facility Administration regarding patient conditions or concerns.
· Participate in outreach programs including conferences, fairs, and other program related events.
· Performs very minimal on-call duties, as necessary to provide urgent care for patients. Travel from the various offices as needed, most of the time you will be in one office that day or at least half a day depending on the patient volume of the particular office. Currently we only have one office, but in time we plan to expand.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Initially, none other than directing the Medical Assistants, there are opportunities for growth and added responsibilities.
Education, Licensure, Residency Training, and/or Experience:
· Graduation from an Accredited Podiatric Medical School and completed Accredited Podiatric Residency Program. Board Certified or Board Qualified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). 1-year residency required; however, 2-3-year residencies are preferred.
· Active Arizona Podiatry Medical License to practice medicine without restrictions per state law.
· Active Arizona Dispensary License Current DEA License.
· Doctors who have already be credentialed by insurance companies will be given preference, however the right person is the most important factor.
· Must be a United States Citizen or have proper work vistas for long term employment.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in using a current Windows-based format computer platform.
Travel:
Minimal travel is necessary for this position, employee is required to drive from home to office or office to office, also some travel can be required to and from CME conferences. A stipend for CME travel and various dues is provided to the Associate Podiatrist up to $4000 per year.
Employees must have the ability to maintain active and courteous customer and staff communication; access, input, and retrieve information from the computer system, enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry, and vision to monitors. May be subject to sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
Salary: Starting base salary ranges from $120,000 to $180,000 pending experience and training, and there are opportunities for bonus on productivity. We have a lot of ancillaries to help our patients get better faster and it helps generate additional revenues for the provider.
We need a podiatrist NOW or as soon as possible that can really help our practice grow and expand in the area.
