Female-owned Sage Crystals, a consciously-sourced crystal company, is seeking a Full-Time Shop Manager to head our brick-and-mortar store. We are looking for engaging, motivated individuals who value authentic connection with customers, have experience in managing and leading employees, and want to be part of an inclusive community-centered company.
The applicant doesn’t need to be a crystal expert, but must be able to get up to speed quickly, and most importantly, excited about sharing what they’ve learned with others. Ideal candidates are leaders who know how to inspire others with effective communication and strong work ethics. They must be versatile: capable of–and enthused by–engaging with customers, running an efficient store, managing employees, curating a community calendar, implementing shop policies, and modeling company values. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys sales via authentic connection and can lead by example. We estimate this position will be 55% working on the shop floor, 25% planning/admin, and 20% managing retail staff.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Lead all store operations and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Create memorable customer service experiences and connect with customers to build lasting relationships
- Serve customers by helping them select products specific to their needs and answering any questions they may have about our products
- Learn, understand, and share product knowledge with customers
- Supervise employees, providing coaching and mentorship to strengthen company culture, optimize productivity, and increase sales
- Create retail staff schedules
- Recruit, hire, and train new employees
- Manage staff performance by providing constructive, actionable feedback and regular reviews.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and authentic workplace environment
- Maintain physical appearance and cleanliness of interior and exterior of store while adhering to the brand aesthetic
- Work with Buyer to manage appropriate levels of stock and purchases while staying on budget
- Work with Operations to identify, streamline and create retail processes
- Lead community outreach and develop a calendar of workshops, classes, and offerings in conjunction with Founder
- Work with Marketing to execute store marketing, social media campaigns, specials, and promos
- Address customer feedback in a professional manner
- Analyze and predict sales, and sale/market trends to make informed decisions
- Uphold compliance with all legal, health, and safety guidelines
- Protect against loss by monitoring security, training staff, and maintaining security cameras
Qualifications Include:
- Experience managing, leading, and developing employees
- Enthusiasm to provide excellent and authentic customer engagement
- Strong working knowledge of management best practices
- Solid communication and interpersonal abilities
- Exceptional organization, strategic planning, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with various POS systems
- Keen interest in and curiosity about crystals and minerals
- Familiarity with data analysis and customer traffic principles
- Computer skills, including retail management software
- Physically able to safely lift 20 lbs

Experience/Education Required:
- 2-4 years: Retail Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree or minimum 2 years relevant experience.
