POSITION SUMMARY:
The Software Developer 1 performs problem solving tasks of simple complexity and develops skills in design and problem solving. Training opportunities will be available to further develop technical skills, logic skills necessary to learn computer programming language concepts, and techniques as well as software applications and tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform problem solving tasks of simple complexity. Write, configure, build and/or modify software, tools and/or application programs and participate in unit testing of modified components.
Create flow charts for technical analysis so that the project team can understand the data flow.
Develop skills in design and problem solving. Participate in training opportunities to further develop technical skills. Develop logic skills necessary to learn computer programming language concepts and techniques as well as software applications and tools. Useful knowledge of structured application analysis, design, and database practices.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree OR Associates degree in an Information Technology related program with 0-2+ years of experience
Certification: A certificate of training or expert in one of the systems supported
Experience: 0-2 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Passion for Software Development
Basic knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Angular, Node.js, CSS, or similar frameworks and programming languages
Knowledge of Git, SVN, or similar version control
Interest in web and mobile application development
Detail oriented and well organized
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to take initiative and be a fast learner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate your knowledge and skills by sharing a school or personal project you’ve completed
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular computer work, and sitting
Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
