We are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable line cooks to join us at Grub & Games Cafe and Bar at Bluestone in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Ideal candidates should be experienced in maintaining station cleanliness, working as a team, and following instructions promptly. Solid experience in high-volume, upscale quick service operations is essential.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the cleanliness and precision of your designated station at all times.
- Work effectively as part of a cohesive team, supporting colleagues as needed.
- Follow instructions clearly and promptly to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Adhere to strict hygiene practices to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
- Understand and respect kitchen culture, including proper mannerisms and professional conduct.
- Demonstrate expertise in various cuisine stations, including Grill, Sauté, and Garde Manger.
- Properly maintain and organize mise en place for each station, ensuring readiness for service.
- Execute the daily production schedule according to the standards set by management.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures, adhering to established checklists.
- Thoroughly clean your station to management standards before clocking out.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations, maintaining composure and efficiency.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Report directly to the lead line cook and Sous Chef.
- Must have at least 2-3 years of cooking experience in NYC.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. if necessary.
- Availability to work weekends and nights as needed.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
