Council Oaks Community Options is currently seeking compassionate, responsible Direct Support Professionals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our residents to join our team! The responsibilities of the position include providing for the care of developmentally disabled individuals in the assigned residential home or location, in the NORTHWEST AREA; ensuring the delivery of quality services while promoting independence, health and safety of the individuals served.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be able to pass a written competency exam; must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver license/ photo ID and be able to pass a background check.
Essential Duties: Provide direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities including assistance with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, dressing, bathing, and grooming, grocery shopping, assistance with medication, and providing transportation using the house vehicle, and implementation and documentation of behavior support plans.
Further Duties:
- Provide for the daily care, health and hygiene needs of each resident.
- Perform formal training as determined by the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and written in the individual program plan (IPP).
- Document accurately and in a timely manner, the residents response to training objectives.
- Maintenance of a normalized living environment and routine that is conductive to learning.
- Participation in orientation and in-service training.
- Assist in planning and implementing each resident's daily schedule of activities.
- Assist with planning and implementing community integration.
- Assist with the supervision of self-administration of medications.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Report abuse, neglect or exploitation according to Company Policy
