Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, clean, and educational Christian-based learning environment. Assures the well-being and safety of the children in our care. Has an open outlook, is innovative, and has a vision for planning for the future.
The Director will report to the Resurrection Lutheran Church pastor, and work together with the Child Development Board, Resurrection Church Council, and program staff, including teachers and teacher aides. The ideal candidate will demonstrate Christian values and attitudes when working with students, parents, staff, and volunteers. Additionally, the candidate agrees to follow procedures and policies regarding employment as provided in the employee handbook.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain director certification at all times while employed in this role.
- Keep abreast of State and local regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate the management of the Resurrection Child Development program, including shared space, equipment, and teaching staff.
- Prepare annual budget and year-end accounting for approval by RLC.
- Operate the Resurrection Child Development program within the approved budget.
- Supervise and manage the staff.
- Review, select, and implement program curriculums.
- Be aware of enrollment availability at all times, advertising as needed.
- Meet the physical demand of the position; including but not limited to, lifting a child up to 40 pounds.
- Work with the RLC Financial Director and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records of the Resurrection Child Development Program.
- Maintain complete files on enrolled children, including all forms required by regulatory bodies.
- Represent the RLCDP at regularly scheduled meetings with the Pastor, Church Council, and RLCDP Board.
Qualifications:
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a childcare program of at least 5 years preferred.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any field or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Completion of Director Qualification Courses.
- Infant/Toddler qualified.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and/or coursework in adult supervision and effective leadership.
- Current Certification in:
- CPR/First Aid
- State required Medical and Health Test, including ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Additional certifications as required by government or agency regulations.
- A well-developed philosophy on the education of young children.
- Competency in computer use and software applications.
- Familiarity with licensing requirements.
- Meet all State and local licensing requirements for director status.
