Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities: 1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery used in construction projects. 2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure proper functioning and safe operation of equipment. 3. Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and scheduled services according to manufacturer guidelines and company standards. 4. Complete repairs and replacements of engine components, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other mechanical systems as needed. 5. Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions. 6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts inventory and service history. 7. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment. 8. Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and prioritize repair needs to minimize downtime. 9. Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry advancements, technologies, and best practices related to diesel engine maintenance and repair. Requirements: 1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program or apprenticeship preferred. 2. Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. 3. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex diesel engine systems and components. 4. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized diagnostic software, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment. 5. Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection systems, turbochargers, emissions control systems, and electronic engine controls. 6. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and electrical systems commonly found in heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment. 7. Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required. 8. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
