Summary:
Keep all equipment in good repair with minimum downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance throughout the Spa, Inn, Public Areas and Grounds of the property.
Complete maintenance work orders and assigned tasks from all departments on a timely basis by following standard operating procedures.
Continually work towards, and support the goals of the property, including the upkeep of property equipment and systems, ensuring the highest standards of property presentation and guest experience at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests that are dispatched by Inn Front Desk personnel and Spa Management as needed in a timely and complete manner.
- Communicate with department management on status of any repairs or equipment failures, and following through on communication with Supervisors / Management on next steps required as needed.
- Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC and boiler systems as trained and directed.
- Understand how to read, interpret and address minor malfunctions in property operating equipment.
- Complete new maintenance requests as assigned and update Supervisor on status upon completion.
- Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
- Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.
- Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment.
- Monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems as necessary and to standard, to be fully informed of the system operation and how to react and handle emergencies involving these systems.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional at all times while on duty.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance activities in Spa, Inn and Hotel Public Areas like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, Mopping up spills and leaks, repairing all types of hardware, basic plumbing tasks, basic electrical tasks, drywall repairs, caulking, grouting, painting, equipment repairs and other cosmetic repairs as needed.
- Anticipate and address the needs of resort guests and co-workers (that service guests needs), interacting in a polite professional manner at all times.
- Identify and address routine maintenance issues that are identified during property walk throughs. A keen eye for detail is required to perform this duty.
- Report any maintenance issues identified that need to be addressed by others.
- Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Record and maintain logs and records as directed.
- Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
- Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
- To be available for any emergencies and act in the capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during any emergency.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks on assigned areas.
- Perform assigned daily, weekly and monthly routine checks of equipment.
- Perform a variety of labor intensive tasks such as furniture relocation and setup, general cleaning, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist co-workers with projects and tasks as requested.
- Snow removal including hand shoveling, spreading ice melt, sanding, and salting of walkways and roadways.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor, Director of Engineering and Senior Management.
Qualification Requirements:
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Willing to learn and perform to standard, a variety of repairs and routine assignments associated with a maintenance department.
- Must possess a current, valid, US state issued driver’s license.
- Must pass a personal background check to satisfaction of employer.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgments.
- Ability to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.

- Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organized.
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a busy, fast paced environment and adhere to property guidelines the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Has a good understanding of English language, both written and oral.
Availability:
Ability to work a flexible schedule Holidays and weekends based on the needs of the business (typically second shift).
Must be available to report to work as needed for snow removal, or in the event of other emergency events.
Education and / or Experience:
High School diploma preferred. Technical School qualification preferred. Minimum 2 years prior work experience in a maintenance role, with specific experience directly relevant to the tasks associated with this position.
Physical Demands:
Must be willing and able to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds of weight, with the use of proper equipment / lifting techniques.
Must be willing and able to work in all varieties of weather conditions. This includes extreme cold or heat, high humidity, rain, and snow.
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Work Environment:
Will frequently work around a variety of noisy mechanical equipment, tools where the noise level can range from moderate to extremely loud.
Will be exposed to a variety of cleaning chemicals, lubricants, paints, and solvents.
Will be exposed to many forms of dust that are generated by grounds work, demolition, and construction projects, as well as routine cleaning duties.
