SUMMARY:
The Security Shift Supervisor supervises assigned departmental staff and operations of a given shift. Also works with the Security Department Manager to develop, train and implement new staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises assigned operational function within the department, activities of the Security Officers.
- Inspects equipment and personal appearance of security personnel at the start of their shift.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and evaluates the nature and severity of each situation. Provides a high level of service, maintaining high standards and appearances.
- Utilizes computer systems to write detailed incident reports regarding: incidents of theft, injury, property damage and/or incident relating to infraction of laws, company policies or breaches of security.
- Patrol and inspect assigned areas, to include all public areas, pool, entrances, and grounds.
- Patrol property for any safety and fire hazards.
- Oversees key distribution.
- Supervises pit drops, making sure all boxes are placed properly, accounted for and verified in accordance with property policies.
- Patrols the property in a Security vehicle when necessary to ensure smooth movement of traffic on property.
- Consistently practice and maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, guests and vendors.
- Other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining team members, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year previous experience in similar position, preferably within the gaming industry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Nevada Gaming Control Board registration & Alcohol Awareness training required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
