Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments, providing excellent customer service
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed in electronic dental record systems
- Assist with dental administrative support tasks, including filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists as necessary
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and handling multiple lines
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including occasional evenings or weekends if required
