ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trouble-shoot, diagnose and resolve product hardware and software problems.
- Performs periodic preventative and corrective maintenance of installed equipment.
- Modifies or updates equipment when required.
- Prepares detailed service and failure records.
- Maintains tools, test equipment, etc. Works under general supervision.
- Analyze mechanical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and documentation as part of diagnostics process.
- Take service phone calls and/or meet directly with customers; represent company.
- Use a support database to document customer issues/resolutions.
- Provide training to customers and/or Distributors for preventative maintenance and repair.
- Record and track customer support trouble tickets, prepare notes and generate service orders.
- Participate in contracted installation, maintenance, and ongoing service work, when and as required.
- Help with spare parts inventory accounting.
- Other duties and tasks as needed or assigned.
- Flexibility to travel for onsite issue resolution +/- 50%, for up to a week at a time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school Diploma.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand schematics.
- Basic mechanical assembly skills and aptitude.
- Ability to use multimeters and common electronic test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Strong hand/eye coordination and dexterity skills.
- Dependable, adaptable, and teachable.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while keeping organized, focusing on priorities and being productive.
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently after training.
- Professional appearance and personal grooming standards. Professional conduct.
- Hard worker with strong work-ethic, integrity, and planning/organizing abilities.
- Ability to work with others and manage projects.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Prior electro-mechanical assembly, service and/or electronic/electrical experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in electronics or similar (not required).
