Job Description and Requirements:
The Store Associate/Cashier supports all functions within the Store. This includes selling, providing product knowledge and expert solutions to customers, stocking shelves, cashiering, making keys, filling propane, providing loading and assembly services. Other responsibilities may be assigned and additional training provided over time. This position reports to the Assistant Store Manager.
Responsibilities specific to the Store Associate:
Knowledge of and Experience using the products in an assigned Department or Departments. Department responsibilities are divided as follows: Outdoor Living, Housewares, Plumbing & Electrical, Tools, or Hardware.
Ability to stocks shelves from storage areas, load and unload delivery vehicles and freight containers by hand.
Ability to set planograms and maintain visual product & marketing standards.
Responsibilities of every Associate:
Enthusiasm to greet customers anywhere on the property.
Maintain a positive, productive work environment through friendly, respectful relationships with customers & co-workers.
Execution of daily operational duties including: product organization, store cleanliness and inventory cycle counts.
Keep all machinery, equipment, and tools clean and in good working order for safe usage.
Reports all issues regarding safety, waste, damage, equipment, accidents or customer concerns promptly to a member of Management.
Informs Operations Manager promptly of suspected inventory shortage.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Prior experience using Department specific products
Demonstrated ability to operate a cash register quickly and accurately
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Able to stand and move throughout the entire property for up to 8 hours
Work under extreme heat or cold weather conditions.
Work safely around moving trucks and moving machinery/equipment
Work a flexible schedule that includes weekends.
Ability to write, read, and communicate in English
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
