Summary
Members of the Charles Playhouse House Security team will assist patrons attending events in the building’s lounge and two performance spaces; a 200-seat theater which is the former home to the comedy whodunit Shear Madness and a 500-seat theater that is home to the long-running smash hit Blue Man Group. This team ensures the safety and comfort of all that attend, perform, and work at the venue. House Security maintains the ongoing security of the building, but must also possess exceptional customer service skills to provide a welcoming environment and de-escalate as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Stay alert, identify and prevent any threats against and/or to the safety, security and well-being of the venue and its guests.
- Provide quick and efficient response to emergencies, evacuations, and other safety concerns (current certifications in First Aid/CPR and TIPS is a plus).
- Work with Management to ensure compliance of all building policies including Federal, State, and Local requirements related to Covid-19.
- Assist with group arrivals, ADA accessibility arrangements, and basic ticketing challenges.
- Prevent outside food and beverages from entering the venue.
- Greet all late guests and notify Front of House staff of their arrival.
- Oversee third-party security personnel.
- Monitor the traffic flow in the lobbies before and after performances.
- Assist with closing and securing the building at the end of the night.

Education and/or Experience
- Previous security experience is a plus.
- Customer Service experience required.
