Registered Radiologic Technologist - Mammography

Position Summary:
Operates equipment and performs various radiographic/fluoroscopic and mammography related procedures. Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares for and assists radiologists in completion of radiologic/ fluoroscopic examinations and completion of needle localization and stereotactic procedures
- Reviews all diagnostic data for completeness and accuracy
- Assesses the patient’s physical and mental status prior to discharge from the department
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited educational program in radiologic technology required
- Professional credentialing with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology and Mammography required
- BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or Kootenai Health BLS within 60 days of hire
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs
