Position Summary
The Electrical Engineering Technician works under direct supervision to build, install, test, and implement automation equipment based on established business strategies to ensure continual improvement, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policy. Using their technical knowledge, the Electrical Engineering Technician will perform set-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance where sequences, methods, and instructions are well-defined and routine in nature.
Essential Functions

Modify, maintain, or repair electronics equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning, replacing defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments as needed

Create and edit electrical circuit diagrams and drawings using 2D CAD or SolidWorks Electrical software

Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards; assembling, testing, or maintaining circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics

Assist Engineering team in construction of machine control and power boxes as well as general wiring and plumbing of manufacturing machinery
Perform varies tasks related to machine start-up and commissioning

Education and Experience
-
Associate’s degree or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel and with outside vendors

Prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines, production requirements, etc. Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

Proficient PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite; basic knowledge of PLC systems; intermediate knowledge of CAD systems
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a manufacturing, cleanroom, warehouse, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel and safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily light work with frequent periods of standing, sitting, and walking. This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Repetitive motions (movements) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
