The Senior Accountant will assist in all aspects of general ledger accounting for two of Solo Brands’ newly acquired brands. This is a great opportunity to leverage full-cycle accounting knowledge, work with individuals in various functions throughout the business, and develop business acumen. This individual is a detail-oriented and highly organized team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Essential job functions
- Perform month-end closing assignments including preparation and detail review of journal entries account reconciliations, and analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Partner with the business to ensure complete, accurate and timely accounting of all transactions
- Support the processes for quarterly and annual SEC filings, including preparation of supporting schedules and footnotes, as necessary
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year end audit requests, in addition to addressing questions as needed
- Identify, develop and ensure the application of internal controls over financial reporting related to all areas responsibility, as needed
- Identify, communicate and assist in implementing opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
- Assist in new system implementation testing and enhancement of accounting for new business processes.
- Participate in monthly business review meetings with Brand Presidents and other business leaders to assist in understanding of fluctuations and monthly performance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related industry or public accounting experience at a senior accountant level
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required
- CPA preferred
- Understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Inventory accounting experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- NetSuite, Oracle or other similar ERP system experience preferred
