Hours: Mon to Fri 9am to 3pm, total 30 hours a week
United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston(UCP) is a progressive, non-profit agency committed to advancing the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities. UCP is looking for a Program Aide (Direct Care) for our Day Services Program for 2 of our locations - Norwood, MA and Watertown, MA.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, including Nurses, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists to provide innovative recreational and therapeutic services in a Day Habilitation setting.
- Participating in various therapy trainings and staff meetings.
- Providing personal care to consumers.
- Working closely with individuals to achieve outlined goals and objectives of the program.
- Co-leading a variety of different groups and activities, as well as provide community integration in the local community.
Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma and a minimum of one year in a human service related position, preferably working with individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Candidates must have a valid driving license, clean driving record, and be willing to drive UCP vehicles.
UCP is looking for a Program Aide (Direct Care) for our Day Services Program for 2 of our locations - Norwood, MA and Watertown, MA.
Working Conditions: The Program Aide (PA) is expected to commit the time and talents necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position in an exemplary manner. Travel is primarily local and will be required to transport individuals in large or small vehicles. The PA must possess the physical ability and willingness to assist persons served in personal care, which will include physical transfers and assistance with bathroom routines. Must have a full range of motion including the ability to bend, push, pull, bear-weight, and stoop for approximately forty-five minutes at a time. Will be required to attend meeting/training during unscheduled hours. May be required to work at another UCP location during time on shift as staffing coverage necessitates.
