Business Development Representative
The primary responsibility of the Business Development Representative is to build a book of business to increase revenue. This role requires prospecting and selling new external customers via an inside sales approach. This will support the overall growth and profitability goals of the branch and organization. This role will handle all sales duties involved with onboarding new customers. This will involve managing the full sales cycle from prospect to close. A real hunter mentality is needed. This role will handle all activities related to business development including phone calls, e-mails, CRM activity, RFP pricing, and all customer communication. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Business Development.
Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Proactively develop a new portfolio of clients through a mix of phone, email and LinkedIn solicitations.
- Identify and develop prospects through a mix of market research, existing connections and referrals from clients.
- Process pricing requests immediately upon prospect/customer outreach.
- Ensure all new customers are appropriately onboarded per company onboarding procedures.
- Telephone contact potential customers to provide relationship depth within the company. Expectation will be 50 calls per day starting out but up to 100 per day.
- Sell and close new and former customers to move their freight.
- Develop relationships with your own customers resulting in repeat business.
- Interface with other departments to ensure customer requirements/issues are communicated and handled accurately and expeditiously.
- Receive, organize, monitor, price (with guidance from sales & operations team), input all requests for proposal/bids. Ensure all bids are submitted accurately, completely, and on-time.
- Use of Hubspot as a sales CRM to track and monitor pipeline progress.
- Prepare presentations as required by prospects/customers.
- Advise leadership of any customer issues/requests
- Other duties as may be required.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor?s degree with a Logistics, Business, or Marketing major a plus
