Beatrice Mayes Institute is looking for a 4th / 5th grade Math teacher to:
- Create and deliver engaging lessons to diverse groups of students at all levels. Promotes enthusiasm for 4th and 5th Grade Math.
- Adhere to Texas curriculum standards.
- Collect and reports on correct and detailed records of student performance.
- Promotes enthusiasm for the specified subject level. Maintains classroom order.
Job Duties:
- Develops lesson plans which meet established school curriculum models
- Adapts and reassesses lesson plans to meet specific student needs, comply with newly implemented guidelines or rules, and update relevant information and include new developments in education
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Manages the diverse ability levels of students
- Adapts curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
- Possesses and continually develops working knowledge of curriculum programs and frameworks
- Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
- Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students
- Communicates with other staff members who engage with students
- Communicates with parents as per school guidelines on a regular basis, including presenting student progress reports and informing parents of requisite student discipline
- Maintains order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines
- Attends occasional continuing education seminars
- Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and guidelines
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited academic institution (Required).
- Teaching certification (highly preferred)
- Class Management Skills, Curriculum Building, and Lesson Planning.
- 1-year of Teaching (Required)
- 1-3 years knowledge of Relevant Teaching Subject Area, Adaptable Teaching Practices, and Creative Problem-Solving Skills.
- Candidates must exhibit patience, empathy, strong written and verbal communication skills, developed organizational skills, prioritization, deadline adherence, and relationship building with team members, parents and community stakeholders.
More Job Details and Compensation:
The following ranges are tentative and are subject to change based on the annual budget approved by the Board of Directors:
- Salary Range: $51,000 - $61,000
- Job Type: Full-time, Salary Exempt position
- 10-month Work Calendar
*Commensurate with experience.
