Job Description
We are looking for a competent Workers Compensation Billing Supervisor to join our team. As a Billing Supervisor, you will oversee the billing team, undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks. Your main goal will be to help guarantee the company’s revenues. You will be responsible for overseeing the processing of billing, incoming payments, along with submitting any necessary Second Bill Reviews and Independent Bill Reviews.
The Billing Supervisor is a key position responsible for coordinating the billing and maintenance of our clients’ accounts. The Billing Supervisor will oversee the daily billing of client accounts, as well as performing reviews of billing documents, and generating reports as needed. This position requires a highly detailed and reliable person, who is team oriented and has the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, along with a thorough understanding of the Workers’ Compensation Official Medical Fee Schedule.
What you’ll do
· Supervise the billing team and payment processing
· Responsible for timely billing and staff productivity
· Run statistics
· Coordinate with software vendors to resolve technical issues which may impact the billing process
· Oversee and/or process electronic billing
· Oversee and/or process incoming payments
· Run weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly reports
· Oversee the bill reconsideration process with respect to denied or contested medical bills
· Ensure the process is administered in compliance with their respective strict deadlines
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or at least four years of experience in Workers’ Compensation billing, insurance bill review and supervising or leading others
· Driver's license
· Knowledge of medical CPT and ICD-9/10 coding
· Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel
· Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format
· Ability to work with little supervision
· Interpersonal and customer service skills
· Willingness to work overtime, when necessary
· Willingness to travel with some overnight stays, as needed
