Role Overview:
The Outside Sales Manager - New Construction Oil & Gas will conduct and direct sales activities on behalf of IMI for New Construction Oil & Gas projects in his/her assigned region of the Americas. Sales activity coordination involves performing the following duties personally or in conjunction with IMI representatives. This person will work remotely and travel approximately 60%. Candidates should be located in the Western US (Pacific Time Zone).
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have any direct reports but will manage third party agent relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement strategic sales plans, and obtain purchase orders that meet or exceed IMI Americas Oil & Gas regional sales goals.
- Conducts customer sales seminars to promote IMI products as part of a coordinated severe service control valve sales selling strategy.
- Educate and build relationships with key personnel and business advocates capable of assisting in creating preference for IMI products and services.
- Routinely report sales activity for projects on IMI’s CSM project tracking software (ESM)
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product. (ISA Local Meetings).
- Regularly entertain key clients to establish good rapport to promote IMI position within customer organization.
- Analyzes and control expenditures of individual yearly travel and entertainment budget.
- Prepares periodic sales reports showing assigned project status, sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on IMI competitor activities and products.
- Provide technical and marketing support to sales representatives.
- Prepares region sales forecasts and marketing plans.
- Frequent informative, interpretive, and persuasive contact with existing new and potential customers to sell Company products.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, building relationships, allocating resources, and closing orders.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form.
- High moral and ethical standards.
- Flexible in shifting priorities and resources to meet objectives.

Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; or four plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of crude oil/gas production, transportation, refining processes.
- Knowledge of petrochemical processes.
- Knowledge of control valves and related industry specifications.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to plan and conduct negotiations with customers.
- Ability to make informative and persuasive presentations to customers.
- Knowledge of principles and theories of mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing management.
- This position requires approximately 60% travel.
