- Collaborate with Plant Manager to develop work procedures, schedules, and production plants.
- Production Planning and Scheduling
- Oversee day-to-day production planning and scheduling, including materials scheduling and inventory management.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to expedite workflow and ensure timely production.
- Process Expertise
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of cheese manufacturing processes, whey processing operations, and sanitation activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with customers and government agencies for audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and personnel information.
- Resource Management
- Monitor and control resources, including procurement and capital equipment.
- Direct Reports
- Oversees and manages a team of 15(+) Production Operators.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates of Arts Degree (A.A) in Supervisory Management or related field preferred. Completion of Associate’s degree within established timeline after hire is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment or as a Supervisor in Food Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in cheese making and whey processing is highly desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures and loud noise levels.
- Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles from heated wash solutions and cleaning chemicals. Some exposure to high places.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED - PPE’s REQUIRED
- Milk HTST pasteurizer, silo and tanks, milk and whey separators, cheese making vats, pumps, pH meter, thermometers, recording charts, computers, multi-tank CIP system, cheese making utensils, hand tools, and others as required.
- Safety goggles, rubber or latex gloves, lab coat, and hearing protection are required when working with hazardous materials or loud equipment.
- Recommended PPE includes a face shield, chemical-resistant apron, and steel toe shoes.
