As a Commercial Branch Service Manager, your job is to lead your service & sales department to capture the value SM Tire builds into it products and services. It is service department's job to recover their department costs and make a profit according to the financial goals established.
Essential Results
Your service & sales department personnel must capture the value SM Tire builds into its products and services. This is accomplished by working with customers who naturally want to pay less than you want to charge. Your success is based on building mutually successful relationships with fleet customers.
You are responsible for the system that includes;
- Promoting SM Tire
- Analyze Capacity
- Help select service tech’s & sales team to and make sure they clearly understand the company’s goals and objectives.
- Coaching & Supervising Service tech’s & Sales team To Produce The Desired Results
- Analyze productivity, and control payroll service & sales dept costs along with related overhead.
- Control and monitor the service dept vehicle fleet, (maintenance, appearance, and costs).
- Analyze Finances of Department Responsibilities
- Make recommendations for inventory stock levels that produce financially satisfactory inventory turns.
- Insure billing is accurate and timely. All service and product billing is to be completed within 24 hours of the service and/or product being rendered or delivered.
- Insure "Contract Pricing" is established and updated accurately and timely on accounts to ensure efficiency.
- Assist in other areas or tasks within the organization when requested.
- Assist another branch when requested.
- Help develop new and/or existing accounts with the sales/service team
- Willing accept and promote product & service training opportunities. Primary Interactions Qualifications High school diploma and at least three years of related experience and/or training.Minimum experience and/or training required:

- Regularly interacts with all commercial personnel of SM Tire, commercial customers, administrative staff and manufacture representatives, and occasionally with the consumer customer and consumer personnel.
- Commercial tire selling and installation experience and/or training
- Commercial service department supervision
- Commercial dispatch experience
- Supervisory experience of a profitable business unit
- Clear understanding of gross profits and net profits
- Evaluation experience of personnel
- Hiring, termination, and reprimand experience
- "Continuous Improvement Philosophy" experience and/or training
- Account acquisition and retention experience and/or training
- Conflict evaluation and resolution experience and/or training
- "We" and not "I" philosophy, (Teamwork).
- "Coach / Teacher" experience and/or training.
- Manufacture training and / or other professional education Language Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understanding of the metric system is helpful. Ability to compute ratios, percent and the ability to interpret graphs is necessary. Reasoning Ability The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work sitting, standing up, walking, crouching, climb and/ or balance, driving, using hands, legs and fingers, and speak and listen both over the phone (radio), and in person with fellow employees, or customers in order to perform the above listed duties.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 120 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 120 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The employee is required to have an acceptable driving record, in line with the Company Policy, and you must have a valid driver's license in California.
- Miscellaneous
- The employee regularly works 1/2 days on Saturday, occasionally in the evenings and on Sunday. Air travel may be necessary to attend meetings and or training occasionally.
- The employee regularly works 45 hours per week, and occasionally works up to 60 hours per week. This position is a "key" position within the organization.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving vehicles, fumes or airborne particles that may be toxic, and the use of computer keyboards and computer screens, and compressed air (in tires or tanks), that can be explosive. A variety of heavy and potentially dangerous tools/products are used in our industry. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or hot or cold conditions, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret English documents with proficiency. Such documents include; receiving and transfer documents, manufacture catalogues, safety rules, operating instructions, trade journals, training manuals, technical data, financial information, etc. Ability to write in English. Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
