Note: The starting salary offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications within the budgeted salary range of $80,968 – $98,066 annually. However, there is ability for longevity growth and progression in salary for the individual once employed. The salary in this posting is reflective of the new salary schedule effective 7/1/24.

Within OFM, our State Human Resources office provides leadership, guidance, and a sound HR perspective to maximize state government’s ability to serve the people of Washington.
As the state of Washington continues to carry out its Pro-Equity, Anti-Racism (PEAR) plan, the State Human Resources Office is responsible for providing centralized HR policy and guidance out to agencies for how we can create more equitable outcomes and experiences for our state workforce.
The Classification and Compensation (C&C) section maintains the statewide HR foundation that includes the classification and compensation structures for the state's workforce and strategic leadership on enterprise HR systems.

What this job is about:
As a Classification and Compensation Specialist, you'll develop ongoing partnerships and collaborate with partner agencies and higher education institutions to ensure statewide classification and compensation information is shared.
In addition, you'll have the exciting opportunity to be a part of:

Developing classification and compensation solutions that support public sector employers in attracting, retaining and developing a skilled, culturally relevant, and engaged workforce.

Working with critical stakeholders such as general government agencies, the Office of Equity, the Governor’s office, central service agencies and the HR & Payroll community to maintain and enhance the State’s classification system and compensation structure.

Providing consultation to resolve enterprise classification and compensation issues.
