Job Description
Overview
Maintenance Technicians play an integral part in keeping the processing plant running as they preform preventive maintenance, work on broken equipment, do work orders, work on capital projects, keep maintenance parts and inventories in stock, help maintain pump out of the grease trap, and preform various other task as needed. The department must communicate as a team; this requires communication with the maintenance supervisor, plant supervisors, and production to ensure that daily tasks, checks, projects, work orders, etc., are getting completed. The goal of the maintenance staff is to efficiency through preventive and predictive maintenance practices using Good Manufacturing Practice to keep the processing plant running, preventive maintenance completed, and a great working environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Help maintain the full function of the processing plant and all other areas that fall under the Maintenance department.
- Ensure maintenance shop stays clean & job sites are clean after work is completed.
- Do Work orders & Preventive Maintenance
- Forklift Maintenance and programs.
- Work with quality control & on HACCP issues regarding maintenance issues (serve or send someone to be on the HACCP team).
- Be involved with Safety & Quality.
- Involved in capital projects and planning.
- Do general maintenance work, welding, electrical, service equipment, rebuilds on equipment, etc.
- Perform other duties when directed by management.
Work Requirements:
- Must possess 2 + years’ experience in a related field. Or equal education in college or trade school certified.
- Must have knowledge of electrical (both A/C and D/C current), including the ability to troubleshoot electric motors, 3-phase voltage motor control panels, PLC’s, and VFD’s.
- Must have working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Stainless Steel Welding-food grade.
- Must have the ability to understand and problem shoot plumbing issue when needed.
- You must be a motivated and self-starter person who is willing to complete the job.
- Must be able to organize and keep records, place part orders, and communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Management.
- Forklift experience or be willing to learn and be certified to drive onsite forklifts.
Physical Demands
This job will require a person to lift more than 50 lbs., run a pallet jack (both electric & manual), and operate a forklift. This job will require a person who can multitask, plan, and is an initiative-taker. Cleaning and Safety awareness are part of the job. Safety traction shoes or boots are required and are provided.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
