Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Manager to develop project objectives.
- Provide full support as required by the management and Project Manager for the project.
- Monitor work in progress and prepare Daily Operations Reports (DOR).
- Update the 2-week look ahead schedule with the Project Manager.
- Prepare weekly equipment reports.
- Update As-built drawings for submittal as the project ends.
- Basic survey background is a plus.
- Maintain and update a complete Submittal Log.
- Review submittals for conformance to contract documents with the Project Manager.
- Submit submittals as directed by the Project Manager.
- Track submittal process timeliness returns from the owner and advise the Project Manager of status.
- Maintain the PM's JTC Schedule with the Superintendent, understanding long lead items and resource constraints.
- Support the PM's weekly scheduling/coordination meeting with field staff.
- Create and log RFIs.
- Price materials & subcontracts as directed by the PM.
- Proactively think about owner issues (growth).
- Review and compare vendor and sub quotes for scope and price review with PM.
- Maintain open communication with subcontractors.
- Work with PMs and Superintendents to recognize underperforming subcontractors timely with project notifications.
- Attend the Weekly Progress Meetings (Internal as well as with Client) and prepare meeting minutes for review by PM.
- Create meeting agenda per PM direction.
- Safety is everyone's job.
- Maintain compliance with the safety-assurance plan so that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound manner using safe work practices.
- Perform pre-punch list walkthrough with PM and Superintendent.
- Make closing out the project a priority.
- Work with PM in collecting all close-out documents.
- Set goals for promotion to Project Manager, focusing on understanding all project requirements, development of schedule, management of all project personnel, ability to understand plan & specifications, implementation and overseeing of the submittal process, preparation of monthly "Cost to Complete" reports for Operations, attending scheduled progress meetings as the point of contact for JTC.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Degree in construction or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in construction project engineering or coordination preferred.
- Basic knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform job functions consistent with industry standards.
- Regular, punctual attendance required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
