Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Bioprocess group is recruiting a laboratory technician. This role will be responsible for supporting the activities in multiple groups including fermentation, downstream processing, and analytical.
- Prepare, assemble, clean, and sterilize glassware and laboratory equipment for research and production activities.
- Accurately weigh and log formulations for fermentation media and DSP processes.
- Sampling bench and pilot scale fermenters.
- Conduct sample preparations and support analytical measurement activities.
- Organize and maintain inventory of consumables, in process samples, and final product.
- Restock the lab and order supplies.
- Perform laboratory inspections.
- Prepare and coordinate shipment of package containing samples for external testing.
- Help research scientist and engineers with experiment execution.
- Provide timely and accurate verbal and written communication to team members on assigned responsibilities.
- Work with other team members to prioritize tasks/assignments.
- Able to use Microsoft Excel to perform basic calculations, such as determining concentrations or combining weights and volumes of sample.
- Able to work during weekends if needed.
Profil recherché
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in science, Chemistry, Biology, or similar degree preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Prior experience in an industrial or academic laboratory setting is required.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment and independently when needed.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Possesses good organizational, communication and technical writing skills.
