Baker Industries, a Lincoln Electric company, is seeking a Process Engineer with strong experience in industrial manufacturing to organize, coordinate, and oversee local, national, and international customer programs in the aerospace and defense industry. The Process Engineer will oversee the progress of manufacturing operations, providing strategic guidance to teams and customers in ways that promote the company’s culture. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics, ensuring that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organization and our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and lead multiple projects of medium to high complexity and risk and/or projects with multiple sub-projects
- Drive relevant project status communications, monitoring progress through Project Management Reviews
- Manage and work through project launch teams to ensure that the project's scope and outcome are achieved, maintaining accountability for scope change management throughout the project and orchestrating responses to customer scope changes in collaboration with the customer's Account Manager and the project team
- Execute, monitor, and control the schedule, cost deliverables, risk management, and scope, to meet or exceed stakeholder and customer expectations
- Allocate resources and manage the project team, proactively managing potential conflicts and resource constraints
- Work inter-departmentally to resolve elevated issues internally and with the customer, ensuring that barriers that could impede the project's progress are mitigated
- Coordinate with the customer's Account Manager to act as the primary point of contact for the customer's project
- Present and represent the project status to customers and senior leadership
- Participate in strategic planning and profit planning processes
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvements in the product development process, which may include authoring documents and standards
- Provide guidance and support to lower-level Program Managers
- Maintain customer development, production product forecasting, and sales orders
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain teams to deliver high-quality, competitively-priced, supplier-designed components, with the ability to assist in overall supplier business assessments (quality, technology, delivery, capacity, etc.)
- Participate in product portfolio management as required
- Evaluate and drive the implementation and maintenance of appropriate project management tools
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain continuity between coworkers and/or shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Document actions
- Accomplish organizational and group goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

REQUIREMENTS

- 1-4 years of manufacturing industry experience in management, product lifecycle management, or program/project management required
- Experience in aerospace & defense, automotive, oil & energy, or similar manufacturing preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year degree in Operations Management or similar preferred (equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered)
- A certificate in Machine Tool Technology or similar is a plus
- Ability to pass a drug test, with little or no notice, in compliance with the law
- Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law
- PMP®, CAPM®, PgMP®, PMI-RMP®, PMI-SP®, or PMI Project Management Ready™ certification is a plus
- Thorough understanding of all Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency in CATIA, Enovia, Siemens NX, Solidworks, or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of 3D models, 2D prints/layouts, scheduling, and manufacturing-related functions
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
- Thorough understanding of GD&T
- Mechanical and technical aptitude
- Mathematical skills including, but not limited to, decimals, fractions, and conversions
- Thorough understanding of fabrication, CNC machining, time management, materials, tool assembly, and inspection
- Strong reasoning, critical thinking, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
