Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Technical Center Brighton, MI 48116
HYBRID: 3-4 Days Onsite at TCB
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded control systems for brake, suspension, and chassis products
- Review customer requirements to ensure appropriate flow down to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)
- Generate ECU requirements for hardware and basic software
- Develop architecture design for ECU electronics and basic software
- Create verification methodologies that ensure ECU hardware and basic SW designs meet requirements
- Perform development and verification testing of the ECU electrical and basic SW design
- Interface with electrical hardware design team and basic SW team to address/resolve issues
- Support ECU and subsystem validation testing
- Investigate and resolve product issues found during development and validation testing
- Support ECU design compliance assessment based on OEM application-specific requirements
- Support DMEA and system safety development activities
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BSEE degree
- Experience in embedded control system design
- Experience with hardware and software design
- Experience with microprocessor-based applications
- Experience in vehicle electrical systems
- Experience in electrical system testing
- Electronics lab in using electronic test equipment and modified electronic hardware
- Good technical problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with common computer applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, etc.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience and/or interest in Computer Engineering
- Experience and/or interest with Automotive Electronics Design and verification techniques
- Familiarity with Automotive Functional Safety and the ISO26262 standard
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR
Required Travel: 10% Domestically or Internationally possible
