We are actively seeking a self-motivated and professional Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and strong leadership abilities. The manager will work at our Pleasant Hill and Pleasanton locations.
This is an hourly paid position. We are open to a full or part time role.

Essential Functions
- Model a standard of excellence through consistent, professional performance
- Train, develop, motivate, praise, and lead crew members
- Delegate work to crew members
- Monitor the highest standard for food and beverage quality, prepping, assembly, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure customer service, hospitality, and the customer experience meet the company’s mission
- Ensure facilities are in order and the atmosphere is providing a positive customer experience
- Troubleshoot and solve problems
- Support management staff by brainstorming ways to improve our current systems
Position Details
The Assistant Manager supports kitchen and dining room operations with a special focus on crew development, product quality, and hospitality. They are an integral part of motivating and leading the crew. The position includes the following:
- Maintain a standard of excellence each day
- Uphold and promote a positive and productive work environment each day
- Train, develop, and supervise crew members
- Identify crew member who are both excelling and struggling; work with managers toappropriately reward or correct performance
- Communicate clearly and regularly with the entire management team
- Set the example for Zachary’s hospitality and customer service standards – ensuring crewmembers are providing the very best experience for our customers
- Keep a critical eye on atmosphere (cleanliness and visual appearance of restaurant from ceilingsto floors, temperature, music, signage, outside cleanliness, etc.)
- Keep a critical eye on food quality control including ordering/inventory numbers, prep andrecipe oversight, pizza making, cooking, presentation
- Support managers in ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed every day
- Identify trouble spots, issues, or areas for improvement (identify problems)
- Work with managers to take timely action on those observations (create effective solutions toproblems)
- Run shifts confidently and effectively in conjunction with or in the absence of a manager
Desired Qualifications
- At least two years of restaurant experience and preferably at least one year of management experience
- Ability to work productively as part of a management team
- Interest and capability in leading people

Major Job Requirements
- Work and maintain a presence in all areas of the restaurant
- Handle physical labor including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion, bending and reaching throughout shift, occasionally climb ladders, standing for 9+ hours (most management shifts are between 9 and 10+ hours).
