QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting
Bachelor’s Degree or Degree in Early Childhood Education
Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
Be CPR and First Aid certified or obtain such certifications upon hiring
Submit to various background checks and clearances, and ongoing professional education and training, including those required by the Department of Human Services
Strong listening, communication, and leadership skills
A committed faith in Jesus Christ and active participation in the life of a church community

Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents
Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for students

Commit to Seeds of Joy and its brand, and the growth and development of the Nursery School
Demonstrate strong organizational skills
Possess knowledge of child development, health, and safety
Assist with planning and ongoing developments and revisions of curriculum
The Nursery School Teacher will commit to utilizing best teaching practices to educate the “whole child” and will ensure each child’s safety and well-being by responding to their physical, emotional, social, and educational needs. The Nursery School Teacher will integrate all forms of play throughout the day, and balance new, meaningful, hands-on, and challenging activities with opportunities to practice new ways to use what has been learned, while meeting Pennsylvania State Standards for Early Childhood Education.
