About:
Reporting to the VP of Operations/Corp. Director of Operations, this position provides operational oversight to multiple communities in Southeast Minnesota. This role is responsible for the overall management of assigned communities within your division/region. In addition to overseeing community operations, the Regional Director of Operations is responsible for innovating and implementing processes and procedures to enhance the development of talent and systems in their assigned division. This position is based out of Rochester, MN.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads and develops strategies to ensure policies and practices for achieving business results which are aligned with the mission, values, and business objectives.
- Ensures community compliance with all aspects of operations, including personnel practices, policies, and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Provides leadership and influence to ensure optimal performance of community leadership teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Identifies trends and interacts with the operations team to develop and monitor action plans for community success.
- Serves as a liaison between senior leadership and community leadership to ensure ministry alignment.
- Oversees and assists Community Directors (CD) with the development of community operational budgets and capital requirements.
- Demonstrates innovative, entrepreneurial thinking in response to competitive trends and business development opportunities.
- Promotes a culture of “Healthy Living” for both residents and associates to ensure engagement and positive morale within the community.
- Sets operation and sales goals and objectives for assigned communities with input and collaboration from the COO, VP, and CD.
- Develops and facilitates regional team training sessions with a focus on operations, sales, marketing, and financial success.
- Completes, analyzes, and distributes weekly labor variance reports and spend-down reports for assigned communities.
- Forecasts and distributes quarterly and monthly Profit/Loss (PL) statements for assigned communities.
- Assists COO, VP, and CD with monthly review of community-specific PL statements; leads monthly operations reviews for communities not meeting ministry goals.
- Serves as a liaison between communities and home office departments including, but not limited to, finance, clinical, sales, and marketing.
- Participates in state association and regulatory agencies.
- Understands and demonstrates operating efficiencies and expense control; manages/leads net operating income.
- Functions as a change agent in the field.
- Effectively manages sales and marketing with information systems, marketing actions plans, and critical success factors.
- Directly responsible for mentoring Directors and staff according to the Cornerstone Values and Mission.
- Regular travel between properties; minimum visiting each property monthly.
- Additional duties as determined by the COO, VP, and CD.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and leadership experience in a senior care setting.
Education and Experience Preferences:
- 3-5 years of supervisory and leadership experience in a senior care setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure.
- Prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively in independent settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates.
- Ability to adapt to situations with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and excellent at multi-tasking.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
- Ability to bend and stoop.
