Covelo Group is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Educational Services team immediately for a June and July summer assignment!!
As a school-based PTA, you will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to offer PT services to students according to the parameters outlined in their individual education plans (IEP). In this position, your primary goal is to help students overcome physical limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential life skills. Your students will vary in age from grades K - post secondary students with extensive support needs, or as determined by the school district.
Your compassion, composure, and ability to meet the needs of students who require specialized PT support will contribute to your own success in this role. Our ideal candidate is versatile and willing to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, and administrators.
With this position, you can expect:
- Competitive pay between $40-$50/hr* depending on experience. (Paid weekly!)

Additional responsibilities include:
- Assisting with PT evaluations, documenting student interventions and progress, and relaying observations to a supervising PT.
- Supports the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to help students with disabilities improve their physical functioning and mobility within the educational setting.
- Setting up equipment for PT interventions and regularly cleaning and organizing PT equipment and the classroom.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program that is approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Prior PTA experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Current California state license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
- BLS certification.
