Summary:
Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with SolarWinds or other enterprise-grade monitoring tools, and with Active Directory and Windows Server administration. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the SolarWinds platform to ensure the optimal performance of our network and systems. Additionally, you will manage and support Active Directory and Windows Server environments, ensuring their stability, security, and efficiency. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure and Systems Architecture at the Company’s headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain the SolarWinds platform, including modules such as NPM, NCM, SAM, and others.

Monitor systems performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize network health and performance.

Develop and maintain custom SolarWinds alerts, reports, and dashboards to meet organizational needs.

Perform regular updates and patches to the SolarWinds environment to ensure security and functionality.
-
Manage and support Active Directory, including user account creation, group policies, and access control.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, updates, and security.
-
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Active Directory and Windows Servers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all SolarWinds, Active Directory, and Windows Server configurations and procedures.

Provide technical support and training to Information Services staff and other employees as needed.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience administering SolarWinds in a large-scale environment.

Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration, including Group Policy, DNS, and permissions.

Extensive experience with Windows Server administration.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation and task management.

Solid understanding of network protocols, devices, and infrastructure.
Preferences:

Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is a plus.

Relevant certifications such as SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
