ACCOUNTING CLERK
Fast-paced corporate office needs accounting clerk experienced in all aspects of accounting-GL, A/R, A/P and payroll record keeping. We are looking for a detail oriented, experienced, self-motivated, computer savvy, accounting clerk to join our team. The perfect candidate will be extremely organized and be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines for various companies. This position offers both variety and challenge. Strong bookkeeping/accounting, excellent verbal/writing abilities, and careful attention to detail are required. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs will be essential. This teammate's duties will include data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cross-trained in payroll, general ledger generating & utilizing reports for tracking information, filing, and other office tasks as assigned. Candidate will need to pass a background check and drug screen. Requirements:
Job Summary
-
Responsible for financial record keeping using specialized accounting software to record and process expenditures, receipts, payroll and other financial transactions.

Performs varied receptionist, secretarial and administrative duties for Clients, which requires knowledge of department policies and procedures.
General Accountabilities
-
Monitors, reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness and adequacy of supporting documentation.
-
Performs all Accounts Payable functions including distributing invoices for approval, inputting invoices into the accounting system, running checks and preparing payments for mailing.

Ensures compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
-
Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution.

Clarifies or researches issues as necessary.
-
Provides input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records and documented procedures.
-
Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
-
Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.

Reconciles accounts in a timely manner.

Enters key data of financial transactions in database on a daily basis.

Provides assistance and support to Accounting Manager.

Researches and corrects accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.

Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information.

Keeps desk clean, organized, HIPAA compliant and free of visible food.

Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information.

Establishes and maintains files and records.
-
Stocks supplies; Participates in the periodic inventory of supplies.

Complies with Client policies, procedures, and other regulatory standards; Executes practices as appropriate.

Complies with professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Meets patient/client service and quality standards including patient/client interaction and cleanliness of facilities.

Meets professionalism standards of the facilities and staff and maintains professional image of the facilities.

Participates in plans for continuous quality improvement regarding patient care, staff development and facility advancement.

Complies with Client programs for functional outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.

Minimum Experience: At least one year of bookkeeping experience.

Preferred Experience: At least two years of bookkeeping experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in business practices, office procedures and clerical skills.

Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Preferred Field of Expertise: Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Payroll and accounting software.

Clear appropriate Background Check and ability to pass initial and ongoing drug screenings.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Physical Demands
